A downloadable game for Windows
Adeona Mac Os Catalina
Welcome to Adeona's Itch.io page! Please note this is an BETA build and so it will be buggy. It is being posted with the purpose to let testers test and find bugs.
Adeona, which is named after the Roman goddess of safe returns is the first free and open source system for laptop tracking. This system is the result of the academic research done as University of Washington. Adeona does not rely on a proprietary, central service. Open source and free: Adeona’s software is licensed under GPLv2. While your locations are secret, the tracking system’s design is not. The Mac OS X version can capture pictures of the laptop user, or thief, using the built-in iSight camera. System Requirements: Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS X, Linux. Download at the developer’s web site: Adeona.
What is Adeona?
Adeona is a role-playing adventure currently in development by Box Attack Studios. Our game pays homage to the 16-bit era in an apocalyptic world. You play as Amber, a young orphan, caught between five warring tribes as she attempts to rescue her brother from the Gods.
Core Gameplay
Can you survive a series of dungeons, hordes of minions, and blistering bosses? Amber is armed with slasher-style sword attacks, arrows, bombs, and a dash to kill the monsters and solve the puzzles of Adeona. Our unique color-changing mechanics are at the core of Adeona’s design. Shifting your 'badge color' offers new skills and abilities to take on the tribes of Arkadia in classic 2D action. Setting
Arkadia is an unrefined world set centuries after a disease has destroyed humanity. To survive humans went into hiding, banding together in the darkness to create factions all their own.
Now humanity has returned to rebuild civilization with the help of their cruel and sometimes malicious gods. The wilds of Arkadia are divided between five tribes: The Noctua, Ferox, Leifield, Nil Garden, and Marmis. Each group has its own quirks, beliefs, and reasons for division but all tribes fear and worship the same technology possessing Gods.

Hi! I gave the game a try and am liking it, but I'd like to know what is the best way to report bugs? I came across a bug where you enter a cave to get the bow (has a laser you have to cross) and shortly after I died. When I respawned the bow didn't respawn so I was unable to gain the ability that allowed me to cross the laser and I was stuck in the room.

Other than that - great work so far. Love the ambient sound and overall retro vibe!

Adeona is the first Open Source system for tracking the location of your lost or stolen laptop that does not rely on a proprietary, central service.
This means that you can install Adeona on your laptop and go — there's no need to rely on a single third party. What's more, Adeona addresses a critical privacy goal different from existing commercial offerings. It is privacy-preserving. This means that no one besides the owner (or an agent of the owner's choosing) can use Adeona to track a laptop. Unlike other systems, users of Adeona can rest assured that no one can abuse the system in order to track where they use their laptop.
Adeona is designed to use the Open Source OpenDHT distributed storage service to store location updates sent by a small software client installed on an owner's laptop. The client continually monitors the current location of the laptop, gathering information (such as IP addresses and local network topology) that can be used to identify its current location. The client then uses strong cryptographic mechanisms to not only encrypt the location data, but also ensure that the ciphertexts stored within OpenDHT are anonymous and unlinkable. At the same time, it is easy for an owner to retrieve location information.
